Path to the Stars, Skyline Trail.

A trail at the end of the world, where does it lead to? Why the stars, of course.
When you come to Nova Scotia I’m going to tell you to drive the Cabot Trail, and while you are there I’ll insist you hike the Skyline Trail.
Perched on the edge of a headland cliff overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline, the Skyline Trail is the perfect place to watch the sky come alive after dark.
The national park it is in has some of the darkest skies in Nova Scotia.And you’ll be treated to a symphony in the sky.
Though, I would recommend you stay until morning, as the 3km trail is home to more moose, bears and coyotes than people once the sun goes down.
On this night in August I spent the whole night on this boardwalk watching (and photographing) the stars and the perseid meteor shower.
Horsehead and Orion Nebula, Duncan’s Cove.

Our sky is alive with light from stars, galaxies and nebulae- you just need to know where to point your camera and have the right gear to capture it.
Think of this image as a moonrise over the ocean, only instead of the moon I’ve pointed my 300mm camera lens at the Horsehead and Orion Nebula.
This image was one of my most popular images of 2021. However, from an artistic point of view it is a character study, an exploration or Orion and the nearby Horsehead nebula.
This is the only time this image will be for sale in any format.
The ocean is where I go to recharge, to let the waves crash and pull me with them. Photographing nebula is a long process (over an hour just to capture the detail in the sky) and it lets me really be one with the place I’m in and contemplate the sky.
This image will bring a piece of wonder for the night sky into your home. A reminder that so much more exists than what we can see with our own eyes.

Home of the world’s highest tides, the water would be more than 40 feet over my head standing where I took this photo at Burntcoat Head Park.
Every single day 160 billion tonnes of water flows in and out of the the Bay of Fundy. While at low tide you can experience walking and exploring the ocean floor.
At night, the experience is wholly different. The ocean reminds you of its presence nearby, the sounds are inescapable, but to the eye there is only blackness.
The tide is so far out it is as if you were to keep walking you may just fall off into… nothingness.
This is truly an otherworldly place. The red sandstone is from the Triassic period when Nova Scotia lay in the tropics in a deep rift valley. (And yes, early dinosaur fossils have been found here)
Over time the relentless rush of water in and out of the bay shapes and changes the rock formations. Trees fall from the edges of the cliffs and arches fall.
This is a place that does not stand still with time but is ever evolving. A reminder that to live is to change.

This image has special meaning to me. My mother passed away unexpectedly in June 2021.
Just last winter I helped her decide on a camera to buy, she loved taking photos (often of flowers) and had gone through all of my classes.
She purchased a Nikon D5600 with the kit 18-55mm lens. The perfect first camera for her.
After her death I started taking her camera out with me to places that I knew she would love to spend time in. This image was created with her camera.
For me photographing the night sky is all about connection and connecting with my mother in this way has been a part of my healing journey.
Let this image take you to a fragrant field of lavender in full bloom, with the sounds of summer insects buzzing and the rustle of the wind whispering through the blooms.

What size are the posters?
They range from 22x24” - 22x29” - the perfect size to fit any room decor. On each post page the details are listed per poster.
Why are these posters?
My fine art images are sold in limited edition sets of (15) and start at $1500 for the smallest size. They are an investment that adds to a collection, and for many of my audience are not currently an option to purchase. I grew up in a home where we often struggled to make ends meet, I know what it is like to go hungry and understand needing to prioritize other needs.
I’ve created these images as a thank you to everyone who has been following me and supporting me but who is not in a place to collect one of my Fine Art Limited Edition Prints.
Are the posters signed?
Yes the posters are hand signed and numbered by Kristine.
Will I get the poster by Christmas?
Every effort will be made for the poster to arrive by Christmas. However for international and overseas orders there may be delays due to high volume and general covid-delays. Kristine will be shipping from her home in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Why does shipping cost so much for overseas?
I’m sorry! I love all my people over across the Atlantic, however due to the size of these parcels the shipping rates are high. If you want to bundle your print with someone else local to you to save on shipping that is available, just email support@kristinerosephotography.com
How are these produced?
Kristine has been printing her own work for 16 years via various institutions and she has finally made the leap to bring her print production home. Kristine will hand print every single poster in her home, personally inspecting each one (And signing and numbering.. oh and packaging, labelling and shipping… wait, are my kids old enough to help with that bit yet?! ;) I joke, mostly)
What is the quality of the posters?
These posters are printed on fine art archival paper using archival printing processes. They are not printed using dye or digital printing techniques that will fade quickly over time. This is a piece that when taken care of properly will last your lifetime.
How do I hang these?
They are a poster! You can frame them (museum UV glass will be the most protective) or you can get them mounted to foam-core or another alternative and put them right up on your wall.
How long does it take for me to get the poster?
The images are produced all at once as soon as the promotion ends (December 8th) to allow me to offer you a lower price, then they will take 3-5 business days for production time. As such they will be mailed out mid-December.
Will I be able to purchase these again?
No, these posters will never be available again. Some of these images may end up in my fine art catalog to purchase, but not in the same format and the pricing will follow my fine art limited edition pricing. This is your only chance to own these images at this investment level.

If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase, I will work with you to make sure you are happy with the print.
Please make sure that you pay attention to dimensions of the work prior to purchase, as every image is made to order and not able to be returned due to an ordering error.
On occasion, prints may have minor defects that are unavoidable in modern printing processes; however, every print is inspected personally prior to it being shipped out. If you see something I do not please be in touch.
If during the course of your ownership your print is severely damage and requires a replacement, I will do so at any time. You will only be charged only the cost of goods. Simply e-mail me a photograph of the damaged print with a description of what happened to it. I may request you ship it back to me.

About Kristine
Kristine started her photography journey at NSCAD University where she completed a BFA and BDes before moving into corporate creative where she ran a commercial photography studio for a kid’s toy company (where she also was a senior product designer) for 11 years.
Along the way she taught photography at NSCAD University and shot just about every genre of photography (headshots, weddings, family, and her 2nd fave- dogs).
After the birth of her son in 2016 she stopped taking on client work and fell into the world of Astrophotography (since she wasn’t sleeping at night anyways, may as well create amazing photos..)
Kristine is a passionate educator who shares her love of the night sky with thousands of students a year.
Her work has been shown in galleries internationally and has been awarded the NASA Astronomy Photo of the Day twice.
