What are the class topics?

In three short trainings you’ll understand how to plan, shoot and edit your first Milky Way photo, before you ever leave the house.

Training 1:

Find & Plan Your Night

The difference between a lucky shot and a repeatable one? Knowing exactly where the Milky Way will be, and when.

Take the guesswork out of locating it, so you can plan shoots months in advance.

You'll walk away with: your first shoot night, planned and on the calendar.

Training 2:

Camera Settings & Focus

A well-exposed, in-focus Milky Way image is the foundation everything else is built on.

Learn the exact settings to use for your gear, and how to use them with confidence in the dark.

You'll walk away with: your personal settings card, filled out and field-ready.

Training 3:

Edit Your First RAW File

We're not done when we capture the photo, it needs editing to POP!

You'll practice on a real Milky Way RAW file I provide, so you learn my step-by-step process before you ever shoot your own.

You'll walk away with: your first edited Milky Way photo, done with your own hands.

Will it work for me?

If you are a photographer who wants to start your Milky Way Photography journey this is for you.

Beginner, amateur, and intermediate photographers: ALL are welcome and catered to.

This class comes from all of the experiments (mistakes 🙇‍♀️) I made over 9 years of shooting so you don’t have to.

I love your trainings I always learn so much!

Thank you for being an awesome teacher and putting so much information out there for us to begin to learn with!

“It was very easy to understand and follow along.

It's not about the most expensive equipment but using what you have to work with.

It's nice to see a real person explain the steps.

“Kristine, this course felt like a breath of fresh night air—I’m so glad I decided to join.

I’ve only been using a digital camera for 12 months, and when I first watched one of your live shoots, I didn’t even know how to operate my camera! I set a challenge for myself to revisit this after a year, and here I am.

You’ve taken a complex and challenging topic and broken it down into manageable, actionable steps.

The pacing was just right, and I enjoyed pushing myself to keep up with the course material each day.”

MEET THE HOST OF MILKY WAY PHOTOGRAPHY INTENSIVE:

Hi! I'm Kristine

Here’s what I care about:
• Creating safe and supported spaces for photographers.
• More people creating beautiful images.
• Crafting world-class education experiences.

My street cred?

For the last 10 years I've been intensively photographing the Milky Way — selling and exhibiting my work, and earning multiple features as NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day. (VIPs get the full story behind one of them.)

As for the teaching side: I have a BFA and BDes and have been working as a professional photographer for 17 years (teaching photography for 18!)

I've worked with tens of thousands of brand new and seasoned photographers alike over the years. I ran the commercial photography studio for an international toy company (2009-2019) as well as my own photography business, and taught Photography at NSCAD University (2008-2016)

It’s amazing to me that I get to create photos I love, help others do the same and have the flexibility to have time with my young family.
