Paper

Paper is a ridiculously personal choice. My number 1 recommendation is to buy different papers and test them yourself! These are my personal favourite papers.

Hahnemuhle Baryta 325 Smooth High-Gloss Fine Art Paper

This is a beautifully textured paper. It is one of my favourites to make general fine art prints on.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Bright White

A stunning matte paper. This is a great choice for framing prints as there are no reflections. I prefer the "bright White" over the regular photo rag as we need bright whites in the night prints to bring balance.
The regular Photo Rag is also a good alternative and can be easier to find in stock.

Canon Luster

This is my "all around" printer paper. Print my my dad? Canon Lustre. Print for my Oscar's school project? Canon Luster. This is the only paper I regularly keep in stock in 8.5x11 sizes. I do not purchase rolls of this to print with. Anything bigger than 13x19 goes on one of the other papers I've mentioned.

Accessories

There are some extra things that you might want to have when doing your own prints.

Datacolor SpyderX Pro

A crucial step in your colour calibration process. Knowing that your colour is correct on your screen is the only way to start truly correcting your print for any colour casts that exist.

SAKURA Pigma Micron

A note on signing prints, graphite pencils are the best, however many semi gloss/gloss prints will not accept pencil. Only ever use archival pens on prints if you need to sign with a pen, linked below.

Hahnemuhle Protective Spray for Fine Art Digital Prints

This will help your protect your digital prints.

Tape

If you are using tape to hinge your prints or tape them to a matt make sure it is archival tape. Lineco is my preferred tape brand:
